(OTC: CDGT), announced that the company CEO Daniel Ng has given
an interview on 22 April to CEOcast, a wide-reaching online community
of investors and investment professionals.
During the interview, Mr. Ng discussed CDGT's overall
business initiatives, including Cable TV operations, Digital Television
Technology Development and Trading of TV contents in China. He stated
¡§the company, through its wholly owned subsidiary, is the sole contractor
and operator of digital television services in Nanhai, a city in
the Guangdong Province of China. The city has around 400,000 paying
Cable TV subscribers who used to watch television program through
analogy signals. The company is responsible to migrate all subscribers
from analog to digital television service as well as operating its
the pay-TV and interactive services based on the DTV technology.
Besides, Mr. Ng highlighted the company's achievements
to date. He pointed out that the company had recruited more than
15,000 pay-TV subscribers for over one year of operation in Nanhai
DTV market. Mr. Ng continued to say ¡§Nanhai is the first model city
in China to implement Total Migration of Digital Television by joining
professional management and funding source from the market. We had
demonstrated a successful model of win-win-win situation for the
state owned Cable network company, the TV viewers in the city and
the investors which are ourselves. We intend to duplicate this successful
model and seek co-operation with cable network companies in other
cities of China.¡¨
Mr. Ng also provided insight into CDGT's plans for
increasing revenue through release of new services and technologies,
and explained how the company generates revenues from its business
model. ¡§The company is currently offering additional 40 TV channels
divided into four product packages, namely ¡§World Movies¡¨, ¡§Life
& Leisure¡¨, ¡§World Sports¡¨ and ¡§News¡¨. The company is planning
to offer pay-per-view and Near-Video-On Demand service by the end
of the year,¡¨ said Mr. Ng. ¡§The company is also offering a free
of charge information service. A TV viewer can access the service
using an embedded web browser in the Set-Top-Box jointly developed
by Arcotect, a subsidiary of the company, and Coship, a set-top-box
manufacturer in Shenzhen of China. The company plan to launch the
e-Government service to enable all its DTV subscribers to access
government information through the television sets in their home.
The company also plans to launch other chargeable interactive service
or advertiser based service via its self developed interactive television
service platform.¡¨
Finally, Mr. Ng laid out the financial prospects
to end the interview. Mr. Ng said ¡§Regarding the financial prospects,
we are going to file a consolidated financial report after the company
acquired 100% of Arcotect Digital Technology Limited, the operating
company for the Nanhai Cable TV project. In general, the company
projects to record a positive profit in the year 2004 from the consolidated
financial views.¡¨
